Let us be grateful to people who make us happy, they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom. ~ Marcel Proust
Sunday |
We usually go to my friend Shelley’s for lunch on Sundays. We all pitch in, lots of us go, and it’s one of those ‘habits’ that creates some pretty great memories. My kids and I are on an ‘elimination diet’ for a period of time, so Shelley made sure we had enough selection to choose from with our restrictions. That’s true friendship!
Monday |
Donate A Car Canada, a company I do work for, had a record donation month! We have a monthly lunch meeting and it is always a highlight for us. This day was no different. Each of us left laughing and looking forward to next month. Pretty cool stuff.
Tuesday |
A new ‘do! I was panicked because I have had the same stylist for 5 years and she is no longer doing hair. This was my first time with a new stylist so of course I was a little nervous because it’s not necessarily the easiest thing to do – trust someone with your hair! I did, she did a great job and we were able to enjoy each other’s company in the process.
Wednesday |
It wasn’t the greatest day ever, until I received an email offering me an opportunity I’ve wanted to explore for a very long time. It was completely unsolicited and surprising – a true gift.
Thursday |
Deep conversation with a friend about self-image and how it affects our success. So much to think about and consider, and I love those moments. I don’t want to just coast through life without learning and growing. Always.
Friday |
Wow! I was offered the opportunity along with my good friend and teammate, Lisa Holden-Rovers, to pick up our mentor – John Maxwell – for an event he was speaking at in our city. When we arrived, it was so heartening to hear him say, “Oh are you my coaches?” with such endearment in his voice (there are currently 1800+ of us worldwide!). It was an honour to have a few minutes to discuss how much he likes Calgary and of course our coaching businesses and the event we were participating in. He treated everyone he came across as though they were the most important person in that moment. Of course, it wouldn’t be right not to have a little fun in amongst all of that! Just a regular human being doing extraordinary things in our world….my mentor and friend.
Saturday |
My friend April connected me with one of her friends who lives close by. We met for coffee this morning for the first time and it was one of those meetings you know isn’t going to be the last one – great conversation, similar outlooks and some laughs. Nothing wrong with that on a gorgeous Saturday morning!
