“My positivity may be annoying, but your negativity is deadly!”
Those words jumped off the screen at me as I read Jeeven’s Facebook status update. Who said FB doesn’t have its good points?! I haven’t been able to get it out of my head since he posted it on Tuesday.
What Jeeven doesn’t know is that he has been an inspiration to me for the past several months, simply from reading his updates. I only know him through a mutual friend and have only met him twice if I recall correctly, but there are certain people who come across your path that you know are there for a reason.
What Jeeven has done is remind me of the positive nature I once had, the one I yearn to nurture and keep alive. He reminds me of myself in that regard in my younger years – annoyingly positive! Even my legal signature has a smiley face in it, as does my email address. Years ago I had a big yellow happy face mug…wish I knew what happened to that thing. Someone probably smashed the happy out of it! I had a knack for putting a positive spin on the world, posted quotes anywhere and everywhere, and shared inspirational stories with anyone who would listen.
Okay, I still do that! Now it’s out of determination not to let life’s little events get the best of me. It’s my mode of survival. What I want to get back is that innate sense that it’s who I am, how I exist, and I want that positivity to once again ooze out of my pores. I don’t want to waste a moment dwelling on the negative, the stuff that distracts me from the wonders of life. I want my legacy to be one of joy, peace, silliness, a whole lot of laughter and fun, sprinkled with an ample dose of wisdom.
Jeeven has had a direct influence in helping me see through fresh eyes, has encouraged me to revisit and renew one of my greatest strengths – to be annoyingly positive!!! For that, I am forever grateful. Others of you may well, just be annoyed!
Other inspiration from Jeeven’s wall:
… and every good thing is on its way #believeit
… its your time, it’s now or never #takingarisk
… the difference between “wanting it” or “having it” comes down to work, drive, and not settling #gogetit #2012
… developing your creativity starts with trust … trusting yourself and trusting your instincts
I don’t believe in “closed doors” or “open doors”. The idea of “doors” limits your inspiration, capabilities, and dreams. THERE ARE NO DOORS #2012
I hope everyone reading this has a Jeeven in their life. Better yet, I hope you ARE a Jeeven to those around you!
this mom's got something to say ... says
You’ve always been my Jeeven. No matter where you’re at in life … you’ve always managed to stay positive. You may not agree with that statement, but I’ve seen you rise above when you should’ve crashed and burned. You are my little Happy, Happy. Love you Much.
Says the one with the happy face avatar…..thanks for that friend.
Possitivity is such a contagious, viral even , and I would not bother getting infected, all the time.
Sarah, you are so correct. If we’re going to spread something, it might as well be something good, right?! Thank you for reading and for taking to share your thoughts! Your kids are lucky to have you as their Mom.
