So many auto-corrects, so much comedic fodder. Texting sure holds entertainment value doesn’t it?
I texted someone recently and hit the wrong button – ohhhh the twinge when I say ‘wrong’! Since I gave up my beloved BlackBerry , I’ve discovered a whole new world. Not one that I’m totally thrilled with, mind you, because it takes me so much longer to correct my auto-corrects! What is WITH that? Sure, I could turn off my auto-correct but truth be told it’s too much of a kick to see what shows up.
My wrong button ended up being a happy accident because I found out I can doodle on my phone. Who knew?! If I hit a certain button all these application things bounce up and voila – fun times. Too bad I didn’t know this sooner…I could have doodled on my 8 hour plane ride a couple weeks ago instead of prepping for my event. Okay, it was a good thing I didn’t know about it, right?
So who cares about the lessons awarded us by our misfired phone fingers? Is there a point, Shandra?
What popped into my head when I stumbled upon this little doodling app was, “How often do we react with frustration at our stupid mistakes, only to find some new-fangled fun or even useful ideas/things that we wouldn’t have known about otherwise?” By hitting the screen as I did, I learned something new, had some fun and put a smile on my friend’s face (I think).
I wonder what life would be like if we just looked for the ‘innovative’ in the moment, or at the very least, the ‘goofy’ in it. Opening ourselves up to the learning, the potential of each moment? Oh the possibilities! I wonder how many inventions have been discovered through these kinds of happy accidents?

Have you pushed a wrong button and lived to tell about it? Care to tell us about it here?
I have six locks on my door all in a row. When I go out, I lock every other one. I figure no matter how long somebody stands there picking the locks, they are always locking three. ~ Elayne Boosler
