I love coffee, coffee loves me,
It’s my happy place you see.
Morning, noon and night it’s mine,
Just make sure the grind is fine!
I have a magnet an old boss gave me that reads, “Back away from the coffee and no one gets hurt!” When people want something from me, they bring me a latte. Or an Americano. I have a grinder right in my coffee maker so it grinds fresh every pot.
I don’t get the jitters – no really – I don’t. If it cools off, I microwave it (yes, yes I do). Coffee isn’t just a habit for me, it’s an experience. I enjoy it, especially on Saturday mornings for some reason. Certain mugs make it taste better too. Did you know that? The wonders of technology haha.
Oh but it’s bad for me you say? Don’t get me started on THAT list! So is propylene glycol, but it is in pretty much every processed food going, and it’s also handy to de-ice airplanes, as a solvent, in smoke machines….Wikipedia says so. There isn’t much left in the food chain that’s good for me thank you very much, so along with my spinach/banana/peanut butter protein shake please allow me the pleasure of my cuppa!
It keeps me warm, keeps me company, keeps me going, and going, and going…..I’d rather risk getting stuck in traffic with a coffee in hand than go without to avoid doing the potty dance while driving. Smart, I know. My kids will tell you that I love to dance in the car – to music. It totally embarrasses them and I don’t care one iota.
If I need a pick-me-up or a wake-me-up, it’s an easy do. No toothpicks for the eyeballs, sunflower seeds to chew, or brisk walks in the cool of the night for me (well, I do like my walks). Just Coffee. Java. Cuppa. Beans.
Why did I write this? Why not? Aren’t you surprised I didn’t write about it sooner in my blogging experience?! Actually, Candace told me to.
I love coffee, coffee loves me…..

HaHa love it!! I love the part about reheating your coffee, unless your overnight guest gets over zealous and pours it out while cleaning up the breakfast dishes. I’ll never forget the look of absolute horror on your face that morning. That’s a great memory. Thanks friend.

I do love my coffee in the morning but not quite a much as you it seems. Lol! I do find it soothing and I also like it in certain mugs and having a
cup together with friends. 🙂

I love coffee, coffee loves me….haha. You especially like your ‘Yummy Mommy’ mug, I know it!

Your post cracked me up Shandra! I’m not a coffee drinker. Love the smell, hate the taste. Go figure. So for my caffeine fix I drink tea, which as you know has way less caffeine than coffee, so I have to drink A LOT to get the same “wakeful” benefits. So what I’m saying is, YOU THINK YOU HAVE TO PEE A LOT 😉
shandracarlson says
At least you’re not caffeine-free. That would be no fun at all, and if that were the case Life in Pleasantville may need to be renamed!! 🙂
